Abstract

The article offers information on the early life and musical education of Jaroslav Škabrada, a Czech musician born in Horušany. Topics include his introduction to music through his sister Marie and his studies with Josef Cubro, where he learned to play the violin and later the flugelhorn. It also covers his aspiration to attend the Military Music School, his admission to the Prague Conservatory as a trumpet student, and his experiences as a musician during World War II.
