Abstract
- Researchers from the University of the Sciences in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, have developed carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) nanoparticles as a carrier for fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF-2) to improve its stability and bioavailability. The CMC:FGF-2 nanoparticles showed no cytotoxicity and successfully encapsulated FGF-2, preserving its biological activity and protecting it from degradation. In burn treatment on mice, the CMC:FGF-2 nanoparticles promoted wound closure, granulation tissue growth, re-epithelialization, and angiogenesis compared to other treatments. This study lays the groundwork for further clinical research on CMC:FGF-2 nanoparticles in burn treatment. [Extracted from the article]
