Abstract

A preprint abstract from biorxiv.org discusses the role of the epigenetic regulator EZH2 in the pathogenesis of lupus, an autoimmune disease. The study used a mouse model to investigate the effects of deleting Ezh2 in CD4+ T cells. The results showed that Ezh2 deletion prevented lupus-like disease, inhibited T cell differentiation, restricted TCR clonal repertoire, and prevented kidney-infiltrating effector CD4+ T cell expansion and tubulointerstitial nephritis. These findings suggest that targeting EZH2 could be a potential therapeutic strategy for lupus nephritis. However, it is important to note that this preprint has not been peer-reviewed.
