Abstract

This article examines the connection between medication adherence and e-health literacy in patients with hypertension. The study involved 304 hypertensive patients and used questionnaires to collect data. The results revealed that only 9.5% of patients had high medication adherence, and overall e-health literacy levels were moderate. There was a significant positive correlation between medication adherence and e-health literacy scores. The findings emphasize the importance of technology and digital health resources in healthcare and suggest that promoting the use of e-health applications could improve medication adherence. The article also discusses factors associated with medication adherence and health literacy, such as age, gender, perceived health status, and engagement with health-related resources. It highlights the need for further research to understand health literacy in different societal contexts. A study conducted in China found that proximity and accessibility to health institutions can impact individuals' health knowledge levels, with higher literacy levels observed in provincial centers. The study also found that regular engagement with health-related publications and perceiving health-related resources as useful were associated with higher e-health literacy. However, the study's limitations include its focus on a single hospital and region, limiting the generalizability of the findings. [Extracted from the article]
