Abstract
- The article discusses the role of storytelling in the regeneration of the River Irk in Manchester. The river, once a vital part of the city's industrial growth, had become neglected and forgotten. However, a new regeneration scheme called the Victoria North program aims to reposition the river as the center of new neighborhoods being constructed in the city. The program includes community engagement and storytelling workshops to uncover the history of the river and develop connections that will influence its future regeneration. The workshops have been successful in engaging a diverse group of residents and generating ideas for the future of the river. The work produced in the workshops will be used to inform the regeneration plans and ensure that the hopes and ambitions of the community are incorporated. [Extracted from the article]
