Abstract

PepsiCo has signed a 10-year agreement to become the exclusive beverage provider for Subway sandwich shops in the US, replacing Coca-Cola. Starting in January 2025, Coca-Cola brands will be phased out and replaced with PepsiCo products such as Mountain Dew, Tropicana, and Gatorade. Subway is Coca-Cola's largest US fountain account, and the sandwich chain is the largest restaurant chain in the US. Subway has also extended its agreement with Frito-Lay, a unit of PepsiCo, to provide chips and snacks. Additionally, Subway has announced plans to expand its presence in France, Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Czech Republic through a partnership with a private investment fund. The deal is pending a Federal Trade Commission investigation. [Extracted from the article]
