Abstract
- The US apparel sector is calling on Bangladesh to end the arrests of workers involved in wage protests. The American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) is urging the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) to release all workers arrested during the protests and withdraw criminal charges against them. The AAFA also wants the BGMEA to investigate and hold accountable those responsible for the violence that resulted in the deaths and injuries of workers during the protests. The AAFA emphasizes the importance of the relationship between the two nations and hopes for continued progress in ensuring worker welfare. [Extracted from the article]
