Abstract

This article provides an account of the author's experience using the Degritter Mark II ultrasonic record-cleaning machine. The author, who values their record collection, decided to try the Degritter after finding their previous record cleaner to be loud and messy. The Degritter Mark II proved to be quieter, more efficient, and visually appealing. It effectively cleaned records and improved the sound quality. However, the author found that it struggled with heavily soiled records, suggesting that using both the Degritter and a VPI record cleaner is ideal for such cases. The article also mentions the author's visit to All Blues, a jazz kissa-style listening space in New York City, which focuses on maintaining a respectful noise level and features vintage hi-fi equipment.
