Abstract
- The article discusses the issues concerning the opposition of employing Chinese woodchoppers in Montana. Topics discussed include the provision of the Montana Criminal Practice Act, the willingness of the anti-Chinese forces to ignore the legality of binding treaties between the U.S. and the Qing dynasty, and other reasons for the opposition of Chinese settlers in the state.
