Abstract
- A recent study conducted at the University General Hospital of Ciudad Real in Spain explored the potential utility of 18F-FDG PET/CT in monitoring corticosteroid therapy in inflammatory pseudotumor. The study focused on a 69-year-old man with suspected gastrointestinal stromal tumor who underwent PET/CT imaging. The results showed increased metabolism in a jejunal wall thickening, liver lesions, and hepatic lymph nodes. The patient was treated with prednisone and achieved a partial metabolic response after 2 months of therapy, with a complete metabolic response after 9 months. The study highlights the potential role of PET/CT in assessing the response of inflammatory pseudotumor to corticosteroid therapy. [Extracted from the article]
