Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Uyo in Nigeria aimed to determine the prevalence of dry eye disease (DED) among office workers who use visual display terminals (VDTs). The study found that the prevalence of DED among VDT users was 5.8%. Factors such as educational level, hours of VDT use per day, and use of air conditioning were found to be statistically associated with DED. The researchers recommend periodic medical and psychological evaluations of VDT users to identify those at highest risk. [Extracted from the article]
