Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa explored the experiences of keratoconus patients attending public eye care facilities. Keratoconus is a progressive condition that affects young individuals and is characterized by corneal steepening and thinning. The study found that patients with keratoconus often experienced gradual vision loss, difficulty performing daily activities, and limited knowledge of their condition due to health literacy and vocabulary barriers. The researchers concluded that there is a need for education programs to improve the level of service provided to keratoconus patients and enhance their overall experiences.
