Abstract

A recent study conducted at Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts has shed light on the role of E2 enzymes in the ubiquitination process. The researchers developed a method called targeted charging of ubiquitin to E2 (tCUbE) that allows them to track the movement of ubiquitin through its enzymatic cascade in living mammalian cells. This method has the potential to uncover new targets for therapeutic intervention in the ubiquitin-proteasome system (UPS). The study highlights the importance of E2 enzymes in controlling cellular signaling and provides valuable insights for identifying new therapeutic targets. [Extracted from the article]
