Abstract
- A recent study conducted by AbbVie examined the healthcare resource utilization and costs associated with medication overuse headache and potential acute medication overuse in individuals with migraine. The study analyzed data from commercially insured adults with migraine and found that 12.6% of individuals had medication overuse headache or potential acute medication overuse. The study also found that those with medication overuse headache or potential acute medication overuse had higher healthcare resource utilization and costs compared to those without. The findings suggest that improved migraine management is needed to reduce associated costs. [Extracted from the article]
