Abstract

This document summarizes a study conducted in a tertiary care center in South India on children with congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH). The study found that growth was more compromised in children with salt wasting (SW) CAH compared to simple virilizing (SV) CAH, and higher doses of hydrocortisone were associated with greater growth faltering. The study emphasizes the importance of accurate growth assessment and optimizing steroid therapy for children with CAH. The document also mentions that diagnosis is often delayed in male infants, leading to increased morbidity and mortality, and acknowledges the need for further research due to limitations in sample size.
