Abstract
- This document is a special issue of the International Journal of Molecular Sciences titled "Sympathetic Nerves and Cardiovascular Diseases." It explores the role of altered sympathetic nerve activity (SNA) in the pathogenesis of various cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), including hypertension, atherosclerosis, heart failure, peripheral artery disease, diabetic wound healing, and chronic pain-associated CVDs. The special issue includes five review articles and six original research articles that provide insights into the molecular mechanisms and potential therapeutic strategies related to SNA and CVDs. The findings contribute to our understanding of the importance of the sympathetic nervous system in CVD pathogenesis and may lead to the development of new therapies for CVDs.
