Abstract

This article explores the chemical composition and antioxidant properties of Myrtus communis L. from Turkey. The essential oil extracted from the plant's leaves was analyzed using GC and GC-MS, revealing that monoterpenes were the main compounds present. The polyphenolic compounds in the leaves and berries were identified using HPLC, and the antioxidant activity was assessed using various methods. The study highlights the potential health benefits of Myrtus communis L. and provides valuable information for further research. [Extracted from the article]
