Abstract
- Comments on a paper by Robert Shimer published in this same issue which measures the job-finding, separation, and job-to-job transition rates in the U.S. from 1948 to 2004. Findings of Shimer; Composition effects due to heterogeneous agents and movements in and out of the labor force; Conclusion of Shimer that the received wisdom about job destruction rises dramatically during recessions.
