Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at Waseda University in Japan examined the differences in lumbopelvic alignment between adolescent male soccer players with bilateral and unilateral lumbar bone stress injuries (BSIs). The study included 78 players aged 12-15 years who underwent magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) evaluations. The researchers found that there were no significant differences in lumbopelvic alignment between players with bilateral and unilateral lumbar BSIs. However, players with bilateral BSIs exhibited increased sacral anterior tilt relative to the lumbar lordosis, and the pelvis was more posterior on the pivoting side compared to the kicking side. The findings suggest that assessing lumbopelvic alignment may help in managing players with lumbar BSIs and identifying those at high risk. [Extracted from the article]
