Abstract

A recent study conducted at Zhejiang Hospital in China evaluated the clinical effects of different doses of paclitaxel-coated balloon angioplasty in the treatment of femoral popliteal artery occlusion. The study included 9 research papers involving 1461 patients, and the results showed that treatment with paclitaxel-coated balloon was superior to uncoated balloon in reducing restenosis and target lesion revascularization. Furthermore, the use of standard-dose paclitaxel-coated balloon further reduced the postoperative restenosis rate by 50% and had better clinical results compared to low-dose paclitaxel-coated balloon. This research has been peer-reviewed and published in the Indian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences. [Extracted from the article]
