Abstract

A recent study from ShanghaiTech University in Shanghai, People's Republic of China, explores the use of multivariate metal-organic frameworks (MTV-MOFs) in various functional applications. The study highlights the design features of MTV-MOFs, including multivariate functionalities, mixed metals, and post-synthetic modification, and their performance in gas storage, gas separation, water harvesting, luminescence sensing, heterogeneous catalysis, and drug delivery. The research also discusses future directions for investigating the formation of MTV-MOFs and incorporating a variety of functionalities, metals, and pore metrics. The study concludes by emphasizing the superiority of MTV-MOFs and outlining further research directions for developing sequence-dependent materials. [Extracted from the article]
