Abstract
- This article explores a research project that aimed to develop online bilingual resources for people with disabilities and their families from Syrian and Iraqi refugee backgrounds in Australia. The project used a co-design approach, involving workshops and online collaboration to identify barriers to service access and develop resource content. The resources, including videos and postcards, were created in Arabic language to address the identified barriers. The project faced challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic but successfully produced practical resources that were disseminated through various channels. The article emphasizes the importance of co-design and participatory action research in developing culturally sensitive and accessible resources for individuals with disabilities and their families from refugee backgrounds.
