Abstract
- A recent report from Scotland's Rural College discusses the use of two data sources, the Cattle Tracing System (CTS) and the National Fallen Stock Company (NSFCo), for surveillance intelligence on bovine mortality in Scotland. The study compared the strengths and limitations of these data sources and found that while both provide valuable information, they have different coverage and measure different aspects of mortality. The researchers suggest that analyzing and interpreting these data sources in parallel would optimize surveillance activities for epidemiologists, risk managers, and policymakers. However, further improvements in data availability and resource investment are needed for future development. [Extracted from the article]
