Abstract
- A recent study published in Health & Medicine Week explores the gene-regulatory networks involved in the sex determination of murine primordial germ cells (PGCs). The researchers developed a single-nucleus multiomics map to analyze chromatin accessibility and gene expression during PGC development in both XX and XY embryos. They found that changes in chromatin accessibility may play a role in priming PGC lineage commitment, and observed increased sexual dimorphism in chromatin accessibility and gene expression over time. The study also identified specific transcription factors and signaling pathways involved in PGC sex determination. However, it is important to note that this research has not yet undergone peer review. [Extracted from the article]
