Abstract
- India's solar and wind deployment is expected to increase by over 30% in 2024, but it may still fall short of the country's clean energy goal of 500 gigawatts by the end of the decade. Factors such as policy uncertainty, solar import restrictions, and grid constraints have hindered the adoption of renewable energy. India currently has 188 gigawatts of renewable capacity and would need to add 44 gigawatts each year for the next seven years to reach Prime Minister Modi's target. The country has also announced plans to expand its coal-fired power fleet due to rising electricity demand. [Extracted from the article]
