Abstract
- The article discusses the potential negative impact of the Automatic Degree Awarding Law in Peru on scientific research in undergraduate medical programs. The law, implemented in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, waives the requirements for obtaining a bachelor's degree, including the approval of a research paper and knowledge of a foreign language. The authors argue that scientific research is an essential part of medical education and that the automatic degree awarding law may discourage students from engaging in research. They suggest reconsidering the law and promoting scientific research in undergraduate programs. [Extracted from the article]
