Abstract

In Russia, sauropod remains have been found in deposits of the Middle Jurassic of Western Siberia (Mamenchisauridae); the Lower Cretaceous of the Volga region (Volgatitan simbirskiensis), Transbaikalia (Tengrisaurus starkovi), and Western Siberia (Sibirotitan astrosacralis); and the Upper Cretaceous of the Far East (Opisthocoelicaudidae). Most finds from the Lower Cretaceous belong to titanosaurs (Lithostrotia). The Lower Cretaceous deposits of Western Siberia are the most promising in terms of the search for articulated remains of sauropods. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
