Abstract

Researchers from Aso Iizuka Hospital in Fukuoka, Japan, have published a case report in the field of Clinical Oncology. The report describes a 46-year-old patient who developed obstructive shock and cardiac arrest due to external compression of the left pulmonary veins by a recurrent sarcoma in the mediastinum. The patient's condition improved after stenting was performed to relieve the compression, and they were discharged from the hospital. This is the first reported case of obstructive shock caused by critical pulmonary vein stenosis that responded to pulmonary vein stenting. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in the journal Internal Medicine. [Extracted from the article]
