Abstract

A new report from Reinbek, Germany presents fresh data on hyperplasia, specifically focusing on the medium-term results of Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) as a treatment option for lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS) caused by benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH). The study evaluated patient-reported outcomes and potential risk factors for postoperative complications or impaired outcomes. The results showed high patient satisfaction with the procedure and low postoperative complication rates. The study also found that the questionnaire used for patient-reported outcome measurement correlated well with clinical parameters. The researchers did not identify any independent risk factors for postoperative complications. [Extracted from the article]
