Abstract
- A report from the Instituto Politecnico de Lisboa in Portugal explores the impact of music-based interventions on the psychological and emotional well-being of patients undergoing medical imaging procedures. The study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of thirteen articles, finding that music interventions were effective in reducing anxiety and heart rate during imaging procedures. The use of digital playlists and headphones with an average volume of 50-60 dB and a musical frequency of 60-80 beats/min was common. The research concludes that music interventions are a practical and cost-effective strategy to enhance patient comfort and reduce anxiety and stress during medical procedures.
