Abstract

In the present scenario, with the rise in the transportation sector, there is a requirement for a sustainable approach to reducing greenhouse gas as well as fossil carbon emissions that will mitigate several environmental problems associated with the utilization of fossil-based fuels. This fossil fuel has a devastating effect on human health as well as deteriorating environmental conditions. The demand for a sustainable approach to waste management has led to the development of renewable biofuels as an alternative to fossil fuels. Waste management is a critical point in addressing waste generation issues, and in the meantime, biomass valorization is one of the critical aspects in the context of a circular bioeconomy. Biomass is considered the best alternative source for bioenergy production through the application of biorefinery that can generate varied bio-products from a single source in a short processing time. The effective execution of the waste-to-energy core principle will result in a zero-waste discharge plan, which is a crucial step toward the long-term development of bioenergy. This paper focused on various sustainable approaches that will mitigate global waste generation and fossil carbon emissions as well as show economic feasibility for global energy consumption.
