Abstract
- The article discusses the medical views and practices of Sir William Arbuthnot Lane (1856–1943), a British surgeon known for his innovative surgical techniques. It states that Lane believed that many human diseases stemmed from bipedalism and advocated for radical interventions, including the removal of sections of the intestine and the promotion of paraffin-based laxatives as a means of cleansing the body.
