Abstract
- This article, published in the Laryngoscope journal, discusses a case of laryngeal manifestations of the Human Monkeypox Virus (HMPX). The patient, an HIV+ individual, presented with severe laryngeal edema and supraglottic mucosal lesions. The article highlights the importance of recognizing and managing these laryngeal symptoms, as they can lead to a difficult airway situation. Serial laryngeal examinations, intravenous steroids, antivirals, and close monitoring are recommended for the management of HMPX laryngeal symptoms. [Extracted from the article]
