Abstract

A recent study conducted by the University of Waterloo in Canada examined the changes in pediatric eye care over a 14-year period. The study found that teaching in pediatric eye care has increased in Canada, both within the optometry curriculum and as continuing education for optometrists. However, despite an increase in optometrists' willingness to provide pediatric eye care, the number of children seen in a typical week did not change. The study suggests that further investigation is needed to determine the barriers preventing more children from receiving eye examinations at an earlier age. [Extracted from the article]
