Abstract
- A new study conducted at Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Hospital in Australia explores the optimal management of scaphoid nonunion, a condition where the scaphoid bone in the wrist fails to heal properly. The study describes a technique involving arthroscopic assessment and debridement, reduction of deformity, autologous cancellous bone grafting, and stabilization using a neutralization screw. The study found that this technique achieved union in 13 out of 14 patients, with significant improvements in pain and range of motion. The researchers concluded that this technique is simple, reproducible, and offers advantages over other treatment methods. [Extracted from the article]
