Abstract

A study conducted at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Saudi Arabia aimed to understand the perception and acceptance of medical photography among Arab dermatology patients. The study found that medical photography was highly acceptable to the majority of patients, with 36.7% finding it highly acceptable, 11.6% finding it fairly acceptable, and 14.3% finding it poorly acceptable. Female patients were more accepting of medical photography than males, and physicians were the preferred choice as photographers. Patients also preferred the use of department-owned cameras and favored stating all intended uses of the photographs. The study suggests that these findings can inform the development of a standardized framework that meets the preferences of both patients and physicians. [Extracted from the article]
