Abstract
- This article discusses the construction and features of a model railroad based on the Norfolk & Western Pocahontas Division in southern West Virginia. The author was inspired by their experiences rafting and vacationing in the area, and they aimed to recreate the landscape in N scale. The layout includes accurate scenery and track, as well as towns, structures, and industries that were present in the region during the 1970s and early 1980s. The author also shares their techniques for creating realistic mountain washes and conveyor systems. The model railroad is still evolving and serves as a creative and relaxing hobby for the author.
