Abstract

The lack of green construction in Indian cities is a significant worry, thus this study is the result of a proleptical interest to explore and comprehend the limitations in growth of green architecture. Green demand and investment in the construction sector are meant to leave a beneficial environmental impact. Nevertheless, these environmental potentials have not been fully tapped into and investigated in the Indian context, reportedly due to a lack of knowledge of the driving factors and advantages resulting from demand for and investment in green buildings. Researchers have not properly looked into the financial implications of architects' and planners' roles in the construction of green buildings. In light of this context, this paper addresses the issues included whether the gap could be experimentally proven, and if so, how it may be explained and how architects and planners might close it. This research aims to give a solid factual foundation concerning the cost of investments in residential buildings' energy efficiency, with a focus on the economic evaluation of the architectural and planning solutions.
