Abstract

A study conducted at the University of Glasgow explored the efficacy and tolerability of partial enteral nutrition (PEN) in combination with adalimumab (ADA) compared to ADA monotherapy for individuals with active Crohn's disease (CD). The study found that PEN combined with ADA showed similar clinical efficacy to ADA monotherapy, but resulted in better responses to blood and gut inflammatory markers. The high tolerability of PEN suggests that it could be a viable option for adult patients with active luminal CD. Further research is needed to confirm these findings. [Extracted from the article]
