Abstract

Researchers at the City University of Hong Kong have developed a low-cost, flexible pulse sensor called FlexiPulse for monitoring and diagnosing cardiovascular disease (CVD). The sensor, made from porous graphene, has been clinically validated and achieves high accuracy in detecting subtle changes in cardiovascular status. By incorporating machine-learning algorithms, FlexiPulse can independently assess actual CVD events with an average accuracy of 98.7%. The researchers believe that FlexiPulse has the potential to advance precision medicine and personalized healthcare by promoting remote monitoring and in-home care. [Extracted from the article]
