Abstract

A recent study has found that taking a multivitamin may slow down cognitive decline in the brain associated with aging by up to two years. The study, conducted over a period of two to three years, showed consistent benefits in slowing memory loss. However, more research is needed to understand how the micronutrients in multivitamins are helping the brain and whether the benefits are due to supplementing existing diets or making up for deficits. While a multivitamin is not a substitute for a healthy lifestyle, it may help protect against memory loss when used in conjunction with other approaches. [Extracted from the article]
