Abstract

A recent study explored the genetic associations between celiac disease and type 2 inflammatory diseases such as asthma, allergic rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis. The study utilized Two-Sample Mendelian Randomization (TSMR) and found a significant positive association between celiac disease and atopic dermatitis, as well as a slight association with allergic rhinitis. However, a minor protective effect against asthma was observed. The study highlights the need for further research to understand the clinical relevance of these genetic interactions.
