Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers from ESIC Medical College in Tamil Nadu, India, aimed to identify the risk factors associated with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) in India. The study included a systematic review and meta-analysis of eight studies involving over 1800 individuals. The findings revealed that components of the lipid profile, such as LDL and HDL, had a negative effect on NAFLD, while triglycerides had a positive effect. The study also suggested that type 2 diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and obesity were potential risk factors for NAFLD, although the evidence was limited to single studies.
