Abstract
- The article discusses that the emergence of capitalism was not the sole response to feudalism's crisis, across Europe, communalistic movements and rebellions aimed for egalitarian societies but were crushed, like the Peasant War in Germany and the Anabaptist attempt in Münster. The transition to capitalism, marked by primitive accumulation, was not just about concentrating capital and labor but also entailed the subjugation of women.
