Secondary Segmented Modification Method of Cycloidal Gear Working Tooth Profile.

Abstract
- In view of the problems of complex calculation and inflexible control of tooth profile curve in conventional modification methods, a secondary segmented modification method for working tooth profile of cycloidal gears was proposed. Through analyzing pressure angle variation law of cycloidal gear tooth profile, the minimum pressure angle position of working tooth profile was taken as the reference point of the secondary segment modification, and the secondary segmented modification model was established. The formula and the tooth profile equation for calculating the modification amount of each tooth segment under the quadratic segmented modification method were derived by using straight line method. Using the method of tooth contact analysis, the transmission error and lost motion of the secondary segmented modified tooth profile were studied. Through comparative experiments, the correctness and feasibility of the secondary segmented modification method of the working tooth profile of the cycloidal gear are verified. The results show that the working tooth profile with the secondary segmented modification is more consistent with the theoretical tooth profile curve. The transmission error and lost motion are reduced by about 14% and 19%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
