Abstract

This article presents a quantitative risk assessment of egg-white, milk, and wheat in infants with food allergies. The study analyzed data on oral food challenges in infants aged ≤12 months and compared it with data from older children. The study found that the eliciting dose (ED) for egg-white, milk, and wheat tended to decrease with increasing age. The study suggests that low-dose introduction of these allergens could be considered in infants already suspected of developing food allergies. However, the study acknowledges that the causative food for food allergies may vary regionally, and further research is needed to investigate appropriate infant diets. [Extracted from the article]
