Abstract

The Skin Investigation Network of Canada (SkIN Canada) conducted a Priority Setting Initiative to identify knowledge gaps and unmet healthcare needs for patients with Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC), a rare and aggressive skin cancer. Through online surveys and a virtual workshop, a list of the top 10 research priorities for MCC was established. These priorities include determining the optimal management of MCC that has spread to lymph nodes, understanding the role of radiotherapy in MCC treatment, and investigating the combination of immune therapy with other treatments for higher cure rates. The initiative aims to guide future research efforts and improve outcomes for patients with MCC. [Extracted from the article]
