Abstract

A recent report from researchers at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio provides new insights into the clinical and pathological features of IgM monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) and its association with IgM-related disorders (IgM-RD). The study found that a subset of patients with IgM MGUS develop IgM-RD, including peripheral neuropathy, cryoglobulinemia, and cold agglutinin disease. The researchers also identified distinctive features in cases of cold agglutinin disease, supporting the concept of it as a distinct clinicopathologic disorder. Overall, the study highlights the common occurrence of IgM-RD in patients with IgM MGUS and provides important information for understanding these conditions. [Extracted from the article]
