Abstract
- A study conducted in Catalunya, Spain, examined the concept of risk age in relation to arterial stiffness and cardiovascular risk. The researchers categorized individuals based on their cardiovascular risk factors and compared groups with increased risk factors to those with normal levels. The study found that individuals with increased risk factors had similar arterial stiffness to older individuals with the same risk factors at optimal levels. These findings support the use of age as a factor in explaining cardiovascular risk, particularly among middle-aged individuals. [Extracted from the article]
