Abstract

A study conducted in Marcq en Baroeul, France, investigated the effects of supplementing a yeast probiotic in milk replacers on the health and growth of pre-weaned calves. The researchers found that calves supplemented with the yeast probiotic had better average daily gain, improved feed efficiency, and reduced morbidity compared to the control group. Additionally, the use of the yeast probiotic resulted in lower expenses linked to feeds and veterinary treatments. The study suggests that supplementing Actisaf powder in milk replacers can improve the health, growth performance, feed efficiency, and economic gain of calves. [Extracted from the article]
